Sam Bankman-Fried

The Stanford law professors Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried actively pursue options for their son Sam Bankman-Fried to obtain a pardon from the presidency of Donald Trump. White House contact to discuss the matter remains without verification yet Trump associates and legal consultants have recently connected with SBF.

Current Climate

Many clemency requests emerged after Trump issued pardons particularly Ross Ulbricht’s release. Jeffrey Grant as legal adviser received more than 100 inquiries related to pardon requests to demonstrate increased public interest.

Challenges Ahead

Unlike Ulbricht, SBF faces limited public support for his clemency bid. The defense team presents evidence to show the 25-year prison term is beyond reasonable because customers managed to reclaim their funds. Ryan Salame who served as an executive at FTX until his imprisonment now makes a plea to receive presidential clemency.

Pardon Pursuit

SBF faces major obstacles to obtain clemency because of minimal public support and the nature of his criminal activities even though his parents are using their legal and political connections to help his cause.
