Web 2.0 is the term for the current stage of the internet which is enriched with content compared to the original Web 1.0. Web 2.0 doesn’t have any technological upgrades, but is capable of achieving higher levels of data sharing and connection between internet users. Simply, the first version of the internet (Web 1.0) was capable of read-only, whereas Web 2.0 is capable of read-write.
