Rumour has it that the GameFi narrative is set to return in Q4, and with $ETH on the cusp of surging, Immutable, the legendary gaming-focused Ethereum Layer 2 network, may be a key player!

Get comfy, put your game face on, because we’re taking a deep dive into $IMX!

What is Immutable?

It all began in 2018 when Immutable was first founded.

What first started as a network focused on NFTs has now transitioned into the leading Ethereum Layer 2 network for both NFTs and gaming. In 2021, they went live at a time when Ethereum suffered atrocious scalability issues for NFT trading and minting, making costs extremely unaffordable and undesirable for users.

Despite a long-lasting bear market and an obvious drought in GameFi engagement across Web3, Immutable has consistently been BUIDLing a superior network and ecosystem to power and host the next wave of blockchain gaming and NFT collecting, both of which go hand in hand.

Immutable Partnerships

Over the years, they have made game-changing partnerships with protocols and companies, including OKX, Kongregate, MetaGravity, and many more. But one that captured my attention the most was their powerful partnership with Ubisoft, the legendary creators of Assassin’s Creed, For Honor, and many other epic titles played by millions worldwide.

Ubisoft & Immutable Partnership

Ubisoft is on board to BUIDL the next generation of Web3 gaming by harnessing the powers of Immutable’s blockchain infrastructure, including its zkEVM and Immutable X technologies. The first game they’ve collaborated to launch is MightMagicFates, a free-to-play trading card game, coming soon to all devices.

Immutable Ecosystem

In their six years of existence, an always-evolving ecosystem has emerged to take the spotlight. Immutable presents over 111 playable games, with over 84 in the pipeline and soon to launch. Developers are choosing Immutable because of its cheap, fast and secure network, as well as the incredible tools to amplify their users’ gaming experience.

Indulge in the Immutable universe of games, and join over 12.84M players on games like Illuvium for a AAA open-world gaming experience, Gods Unchained to rival others with your finest collection of digital trading cards or even flashback to the past and enter IMVU, reimagined and on-chain, where it rightfully belongs.

Go and explore for yourself.

Immutable Token ($IMX)

In the midst of it all, powering the entire network is the native token $IMX. The $IMX token is primarily used to pay for fees on the Immutable platform, participate in governance, as well as stake to secure the network and earn rewards.

Conclusion

At the time of writing, the $IMX token is sitting at a price of $0.53 with a large market cap of $1.02B. In the last bull run of 2021, at a time when GameFi was trending, and Immutable was new to Web3, the $IMX token had peaked at an ATH of $9.50. Gaming needs a decentralized home, that’s for sure, but the question is, is it Immutable?
